After the death of Mr. Klaw in 1966, his sister Pauline sold about 70 sets of flats to Ed Mishkin, who had been a prolific publisher of controversial adult materials since the early 1950s. Flats contained the films with which offset plates were burned. Mr. Mishkin was publishing Mutrix booklets in Jersey City, at the time the flats were delivered, and 70 of his Mutrix titles were essentially second printings of Nutrix booklets. This item shows Nutrix on the title page and Mutrix on the front cover.

In Volume 7, pretty Betty Page is seen restrained in more than half the photos but appears in control in others. A skillful poser who understood how to position her instrument for alluring results, several pictures do a nice job of showing off those wonderful legs and ankles.

The models appear in stockings, held in place by either garter belt or garters, heels (some high), bras and panties. To avoid conflicts with postal authorities, Mr. Klaw had someone use opaque photography paint to enlarge some bras and panties on bodies of models. This was intended to ensure modesty and circumvent accusations of obscenity.


Miss Betty and her shapely cohorts are attached to a stool, overhead pulley, wood platform, wood frame, table, and the famous tufted satin love seat. They are held in place by ropes, cuffs, chain, leather straps and harness, and stifled by assorted gags. Spankings are administered by hair brush and bare hand. According to the text, Miss Betty is accompanied by Jackie Lens, Chris Pennuse, Arlene Maver, and Lois Meriden, but one or two others are seen.


About half of the original 60 pages are text, the others monochrome photographs. The prose describes photo shoots, paraphernalia and physiology, but not necessarily of the nearest picture.


The ebook arranges all pages except ads in the order of the original. The tonality of the photographs has been adjusted and specks and streaks retouched. The paper pages present pictures with an assortment of shortcomings; the ebook iteration provides a superior visual experience. All original scans.


Most of the pictures with a vertical orientation fill the screen from top to bottom. Photographs with a horizontal orientation have been rotated to appear appropriately in the ebook.


For fans of 1950s bondage or the sublime Betty Page, this volume offers a quick peek at her loveliness in captivity and administering discipline. Her facial expressions charm with looks of confounded captive and serious enforcer while her luscious curves and feminine tapers present a fascinating pinup ideal.
