We've seen samples from a few of these picture sets in 1960s Burtman publications, such as High Heels and Stocking Parade magazine. The WWNC world logo on the cover and an advertisement for adult products with a Cleveland, Ohio address suggest connection to Reuben Sturman. Other than these clues, no publisher is identified.

In the mid-1960s, publishers and retailers were vulnerable to obscenity indictments for presentation of sexually-oriented materials. In anticipation of such accusations, many booklets contained a disclaimer that constituted an oblique denial that the publication was intended to stoke prurient interests. In the case of Tan N' Terrific 3 and most other picture magazines that showed partially nude models, the strategy was flimsy. The covers and title present an obvious appeal to adults with related appetites. Disclaimers only appeared on interior pages.

This magazine has a Publisher's Statement on page 66 —

This booklet is presented as an aid to the artist, photographer, model and physical culture student. It is designed to enable him to further pursue his studies of the human figure — the fundamental basis of all art. It is the honest and sincere purpose of this publication to capture the lighting, lines, contours and defined shadows in order to assist in making good and authentic reproductions and to aid the model in the learning of new and varied poses.

The primary purpose we have in mind is to inspire both the professional and serious amateur by offering the finest photographic techniques available as a guide to what can be done with a camera, film — and a little patience.

Some pinup booklets have information about camera and film used, aperture and shutter speed. Nothing like that in this issue.
