Mr. Burtman didn't always have cash to pay for printing of magazine content he developed, and often sold publication packages to other publishers, such as Unique, Health Knowledge, Bilife Publications, Bizincorp and Consolidated. Packages included everything a publisher might need to print a magazine, and allowed space for advertising. For these, he received a fee and copies, which he, in turn, sold to raise cash for other publishing projects.

This is the origin of Satana, Volume 1, Number 11. And maybe because he wasn't planning on publishing it himself, putting his own name on it, there is no Bilbrew or Stanton work in it.

We acquired this publication for ebook purposes because it contains one of the earliest photo shoots of Jutka Goz, who became known as Jennifer Jordan. While her unique, womanly charm appeals, the set and the persona it projects adds up to a standard magazine pin-up model in routine boudoir costume. It's one of the few shoots where we see her topless, which matches other pictorials in the magazine.

Not without some irony, the brunette beauty who had been using Jennifer Jordan as her modeling pseudonym also appears in a pictorial. These pictures were taken in Mr. Burtman's apartment. She shows us a pouty, skeptical mood, which her future will justify when Mr. Burtman appropriates her brand for the woman who becomes his second wife.

Another common occurrence in Burtman magazines was mendacity. One of the excellent layouts in the magazine shows curvaceous June Palmer wearing a flirty smile, a string of beads and little else. A blurb describes the color centerfold as being her. While it is the lovely cover model, it ain't June.

The table of contents lists 10 pictorials. And they are a nice collection of alluring blonds and brunettes. But there are actually 11. Probably because there were not enough ad buyers, the last two interior pages show a familiar poser beside a big Emerson TV set with rabbit ears on top.

The ebook contains all content of the 72-page magazine, including two short stories and advertising. Page sequence was revised to obtain continuity of the prose pieces. Some margins, borders, walls and floors were cropped out. A few page layouts were revised slightly.

Brightness, contrast and levels were adjusted, shadows reduced and many specks re-touched. The good photography and production transposed to ebook format with clarity.
