Although the copyright page shows 1938 as the publication date, the booklet that serves as source material for the ebook is probably a copy. Letterpress lead probably accomplished the first printing; the second (1950s?) by offset plates. The language and spelling suggest American origins.
The first three chapters are titled Whipping Adventures of Alice Adams. “Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adams
were worried about their daughter Alice. Whereas Alice was a very pretty and likeable girl, at sixteen her high spirit and independence had inclined her toward a head strong nature, which led her into many unconventional though not scandalous escapades. She constantly refused to listen to her parents' advice concerning the right and wrong of her ventures.” They decide to send her to Weltham School, whose brochure promises “Strict Discipline.”
On the first day, Alice is caught in a small infraction that results in her receiving 12 swats of a paddle. But her defiant attitude earns her 12 more before she leaves the punishment room. And she acquires a reputation for disobedience.
The carefully-written text provides accounts of painful punishments Alice and her friends receive at the direction of the head master. In some cases, girls are buckled to benches; others receive spanks while draped across the knees of school personnel. In some incidents, students spank or whip each other.
In letters to Jane, the second half of the booklet introduces us to Peggy, who describes predicaments she falls into that result in chastisement. In one account, Peggy's mother gives her a spanking for smoking in bed. In another incident, school personnel spank her for failure to be properly clothed.
In a sixth letter, Jane describes events at a Saturday house party with three of her friends while Aunt Charlotte visits as chaperone when Mother is out of town. The four teens play strip poker. After all clothing comes off, the stakes turn to spanking. When Aunt Charlotte hears the commotion, she announces that she will do the spanking with weighted, silken lashes she happens to bring with her.
The last scenario takes place at a boarding school for boys. Here, the discipline protocol includes a jacket that pinions boys' arms. Miss Ethel treats older boys to sessions with a leather strap.
Although many pages show drawings that depict spanking, those pictures were not created to illustrate scenes from the prose. They were probably derived from several other booklets with similar themes.
Most pictures show two women, but other permutations also appear. In two drawings, a man is dressed in women's undies.
As the booklet is a pirated copy, print quality is spotty. Multiple image-editing techniques were applied to improve the appearance of pages. Image enhancements developed an ebook that provides a superior viewing experience to the original, but some pictures are too dark or grainy.

The ebook contains all content of the booklet in the sequence of the original. All text and pictures appear at full size.
The ebook contains an appendix of about 50 pre-WWII photographs showing ladies' buttocks about to be spanked by a nearby woman. Some spankers wear gloves or are shown grasping canes, crops or cats. Most appear about to deliver a bare-handed slap.
Some of these pictures are more than 100 years old. Many images are smooth and sharp. Some are grainy or have soft edges.
