NOTE
Custom Made Slaves is offered here in ebook form because a customer asked for it. We’re pleased he brought it to our attention because it’s a genuinely bizarre tale of masochist fantasy with an emphasis on physical pain and gender modification.

When customers make suggestions, it’s often something they enjoyed when they were younger but no longer have. Sometimes, I can’t find the suggested item. When I find the requested book or magazine and it’s available at a reasonable price, the ebook product turns out to be better than average.

During the 1970s, Eros Publishing Company launched the Bizarre Books series with diagonal Eros Goldstripe ribbons on covers. The series included male domination and female domination novels, often with forced transvestism, usually illustrated by a gifted artist.

While visiting his indifferent stepmother in southern France, young Robert meets Harry, who introduces him to the pleasures of masochistic homosexuality. Harry's treachery results in Robert's kidnapping, and removal to Dr. Bronski's clinic. There, female breasts are grafted to Robert's body and he is given treatment and restraints that intensify his masochistic nature.

At auction, The Woman casts a successful bid for Robert/a. Before she takes possession of her slave, she contracts with Dr. Bronksi for additional anatomical modification, both male and female. At The Woman's estate, Roberta lives in a room adjacent to a salon that affords visitors continuous observation of the sexually-thwarted captive. He's visited by triplets, who chain and whip him, which yields release.

In the last chapter, Roberta meets hermaphroditic Anton/Antonia in New York. Although Roberta describes himself as a transsexual “freak,” he finds happiness and love with Anton/Antonia, who alternates master and mistress roles.

As the first-person narrator, Robert moves forward and backward in time to weave his bizarre adventure. He occasionally digresses from the narrative to philosophize about coping with his unpleasant circumstances and the human condition. He even speaks directly to the reader on a few pages.

The prose describes a pattern of chemically-accelerated arousal, sexual frustration and pain-induced orgasm. The author shows his competence with this format of masochist fantasy, and presents it with an easy-reading vocabulary. Although the story includes a dominant female character, the novel focuses more on pleasure/pain practices between men than femdom or fetish themes.

Except for advertising, the ebook has all the content of the paperback volume, including the color cover, back cover and 12 ink drawings by Mr. Ward. His illustrations depict incidents in the story with grand female figures but some show only male characters. As permitted by story content, page sequence was revised to position each picture close to the prose that describes it.

The text has been completely re-set for the ebook version. Editing changes only a small amount of spelling, punctuation and words.
