A summary in Book 12 of Leslie's Adventures in Petticoatland summarizes Lad in Petticoats like this:

“As a reward for his docile acceptance of his feminized state, Leslie's aunt take him to a lingerie boutique which specializes in selling all manner of frillies to young boys, most of whom have been dragged there by their mothers. Leslie meets a pretty salesgirl who digs boy-girls and enjoys an amatory interlude with her, unaware that the fitting room has been equipped with one-way glass with a rapt audience on the other side. Soon the girl takes Leslie himself to the other side of the mirror, where he witnesses other sexy episodes.”

The skillful prose describes textures, scents and sensations as Leslie finds pleasure with Marie the maid and Suzanne the salesgirl. He learns to enjoy his gender duality, which includes newly developed breasts.

The booklet contains two illustrations by an unknown artist and eight illustrations by Mr. Stanton plus the cover. All drawings are positioned in the ebook as located in the booklet, except the cover illustration is repeated at the end.
