In the beginning (1946), there was John (née John A. Coutts) Willie's Bizarre, "a fashion fantasia," the first digest-sized, fetish periodical. Mr. Coutt’s was the editor, illustrator, photographer and primary writer of the magazine he conceived and brought to life. Around 1957, Mr. Coutt's sold Bizarre Publishing Company to a good friend, who produced issues 21 through 26.

Issue 7 brims with excellent John Willie illustrations and photographs, 16 panels of his “Sir d’Arcy and the Wasp Women” comic serial and photographs from readers. Created by a high heel and corset fetishist with enormous talent, Mr. Coutt’s superb content has set the benchmark for fetish publishing quality and sophistication.

Letters from readers disclose their interests in high heels, platforms, leather boots, bondage, pony girls, corsets, spanking, raincoats, stockings, feature films and foot fetishism. Many letters are accompanied by photographs that women in favorite fetish attire.

Every word and picture of the original is included in the digital replica ebook. The last page shows an insert that was mailed with the magazine, expressing an apology for its lateness, with a wonderful illustration of a troubled beauty in corset, stockings, gloves and heels.

All new scans.

As this is a digest-sized magazine that was produced when publishers were charged by the inch for printed pictures, many of the photographs are small. To compensate for the graininess that often appears in small photos, the pages are smaller than in the typical optimized ebook, although the same wide proportions have been retained.

The optimized version positions each photograph and illustration on a separate page, including comic panels. There has never been a better mechanism for viewing this antique fetish art.
