Mr. Klaw purchased negatives and prints for $5.00 each and less. When he obtained paper prints, he made copies by photographing them. In most cases, the retail price of pictures was 40¢ each. Other than by purchasing prints or negatives, Mr. Klaw paid no compensation to photographers or models. All models seen in Amateur Bondage are amateurs and all images are taken from prints.

Mr. Klaw had no interest in or knowledge of bondage or fetishism. His role was that of merchant.

Currently, bondage enthusiasts can visit the local Bondage Supply Shoppe or a website, and choose an apparatus that suits personal fancy. In the 1950s, hobbyists visited the lumberyard and built contraptions that fit their ingenuity and floor space. Some leather restraints may have come from a neighborhood cobbler.

In more than 245 pictures, photographers expose their bondage fantasies in basements, living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and outdoors. The limbs of good looking women are bound to pipes, planks, dowels, chairs, tables, a tree, sofas and beds with leather straps and lots of rope. A few pictures show chains. All scenes picture a single damsel in restraint.

Many photos present homemade structures of thick wood, to which women are tied. Some of the ties are simple while others have dozens of windings. In conjunction with wood frames and platforms, some rope and strap bindings have symmetrical arrangements that suggest webs. While some are blindfolded, many are gagged with handkerchiefs, scarves, tape, ball/dowel assemblies, and surprising leather devices.

Most of the young ladies appear in bra and panties. Others are shown in dresses, skirts, blouses, an animal-print bikini, a raincoat, gloves and leather attire. Most wear shoes with three or four-inch heels or boots. Perhaps the best fetish feature of these pictures is the proliferation of post-WWII full-fashioned nylons, held in place by four-strap garter belts.

The ebook positions each picture on its own page. The sequence of pictures was revised in some cases to cluster photos of the same model on consecutive pages.

Brightness and contrast of most photos were adjusted and many specks retouched. Some photos were not adjusted. The photos are clear but a few have soft edges.
