Many of our ebook products derive their content from individual issues of magazines. Good magazines yield excellent ebooks and are a pleasure to develop and present. Other issues leave a lot to be desired.

In the past two+ years, we’ve offered Remix anthologies of Bizarre Life and High Heels magazines. These ebook anthologies allowed selection of what I believed to be among the best pictorials, articles and stories from these two venerable fetish periodicals and offer them as a collection.

The current offering is not based on a single magazine title but on a publisher, Eros Goldstripe (EG). In the same way that he used pictures from photos sets, and even the same page layouts, in multiple Selbee magazines in the 1950s and 1960s, Mr. Burtman used and reused pictures in many of his EG zines. In this way, it really makes little difference that the pictures in Boots and Whips originated in various EG titles of the 1970s, as they all realize Mr. Burtman’s taste, vision and enterprise.

Many customers have expressed an interest in boots and this ebook presents a boot or two on every page. In preparing the images for the ebook, it became clear that nearly every photo of a model in boots showed her holding a spanking utensil, such as a strop, crop, whip, cat or other tool. In other words, the woman in high-heeled boots is a person who administers painful punishment. Some of the photo sets show the victim as a man, often worshipping shiny leather. One is forced to cross-dress. A couple of sequences show a dominated woman. Some photos just show a model in boots with whip, some in a corset, most wearing leather gloves.






The open-ended framework of this collection allowed the omission of photos that failed to meet certain criteria:
• pictures must be large enough to appear clear when shown complete
• pictures must show the boots (no black boots against a black background)
• the boots must have heels that are at least 3½ inches tall.

Using Bitchcraft, Madame Dominique, Women in Command, Boots, Heels and Leather, High Heels, Mistress Knows Best, and Exotique, all 1970s EG titles, as sources, the collection omits small, dark, and poorly executed photos. Instead of selling a complete digital versions of a magazine, Boots & Whips culls the best boot pictures from multiple issues. Sets range in size from three to 35 pictures. A couple of models appear in more than one set. Pictures that are not part of sets are positioned between sets.

The optimized ebook contains more than 260 images. In some cases, an enlargement of boots is shown next to the complete picture of the model or on the following page. Photos have been adjusted and cropped; specks have been re-touched. Many photos are in color. Also, there are a few illustrations that show dominant women in boots. All captions and titles have been excised; all page layouts have been disassembled.
