In the 1960s, about half of Mr. Burtman’s magazines were distributed by a company called All States, out of Chicago. By 1966, All States was bankrupt and disappeared, owing Mr. Burtman $180,000. The financial crisis resulted in a new alliance with Reuben Sturman of Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Sturman is generally recognized as the covert publisher or distributor of most of the adult magazines in the US from 1960 through 1990. Robert Blue called him “the King of Porn.” Unique World, Three, reflects the continuing connection between Mr. Sturman and Mr. Burtman, after his California migration, with ads for magazines by mail order out of Cleveland.

Unique World is the direct descendant of Bizarre Life magazine, both of which were published by Leonard Burtman. While Mr. Burtman had a practice of reusing the product of photo sessions, circulating them among his titles, this issue appears to have all new content.

Unique World, Volume 5, Number 2
Unique World presents photo narratives of dominant females in fetish leather, physically punishing a man or another woman. Photographs show pretty models in boots and pumps, holding whips. While stockings abound, they are knitted of stretch fiber (agilon?), which was a popular hosiery technology of the 1970s. This issue has references to prostitution and two of the models are described as women who dominate for pay.

Susie and Her Slave — Smiling Susie likes to dominate her boyfriends for the fun of it, which includes poking him with the six-inch heels of knee-high leather boots. In stockings and long leather gloves, she ties him with a long leather whip.

Sadism is My Specialty — Katrina holds a belt in her hands as she receives her submissive client. She uses pliers, rope and high heels to hurt him.

Double Domination — Masochist Karl (Jamie Gillis?) seeks pain from two dominatrixes. Both wear stockings, leather gloves, and corsets, but one prefers gleaming pumps with spike heels to the other's thigh-high boots. They take turns whipping him with a cat and poking him with heels.

He layers descriptions of corsets, boning, materials, zippers and personality with cultural commentary. Introduced by a classic Gene Bilbrew illustration.

The original 64-page magazine is presented in a large-format ebook. The tonality of photographs has been adjusted and specks re-touched. The sequence of pages was not changed. Some page layouts have been revised slightly to obtain larger pictures of the models on ebook pages. Due to these modifications, the ebook provides a viewing experience that is superior to that of the original paper version. All original scans.

Optimized for ebook viewing
The optimized version is based on pictures, not pages. Each picture is positioned on a separate, wide ebook page, and most fill the screen from top to bottom. The optimized ebook reveals the scenarios of these pictures in a reasonable sequence.

This issue of Unique World continued the depiction of groveling submissives at the feet of sexy sadists begun in Bizarre Life magazine. The optimized ebook provides a convenient album of femdom imagery that reduces the need for zooming and scrolling and anticipates the curiosity of the viewer.

Book 2 of Family Affair was published in Pleasure Parade No. 2 but may also have appeared in another format. Based on .jpgs from an online source.

Henry wants a divorce from Lorraine, but she refuses. Instead, he gets a spanking from his wife, “ . . .to teach you once and for all what your place is in my house.” The family catches him with his pants down.

Rough textures on female characters have been addressed in the ebook by using multiple image-editing techniques that smooth contour highlights and shading with an airbrush effect. All illustrations of women in the ebook are clear but little adjustment was made to the male characters.

Eric Stanton's beauties attract us with their power and voluptuous femininity. The optimized ebook exposes 19 pages of this episode on 30 optimized pages. There has never been a better mechanism for enjoyment of the Maestro's femdom art.
