Leonard Burtman – publisher of Exotique, Satana, Bizarre Life – moved operations from New York to California around 1970. While Star was the print shop for the East Coast, Magcorp produced adult zines west of the Rockies. The move improved the quality of photography and printing.

While his 1960s images were shadowy and dark, the pictures in his West Coast magazines are filled with “California sunshine”. The photography appears to be done by an informed professional with a fetishist’s point of view. The locales are not a Manhattan penthouse, but California apartments and houses. Instead of standing in front of Mr. Burtman’s tufted bar, sexy California girls recline on sofas and beds, and stand on shag carpet.

High Heels, 6.2., an Eros Goldstripe magazine from 1974, includes four extended pictorials of models with pretty legs, one illustrated short story and an article about heels make this one delightful issue. Alas, 1950s stockings are replaced by RHT hose, but heels on the leather footwear are all 5 inches and higher. Ankle-strap pumps, platform sandals, two-tone pumps, sling backs, two-tone boots, thigh-high boots, lace-up boots, and zipper boots are all nicely posed and well-lit.
