Ultra, 1, 2
Ultra was a fetish universe parallel to that of Exotique. Like Exotique, the contents of Ultra include photos of models and women wrestlers, short stories, articles and a comic serial by Gene Bilbrew. Both digest-sized magazines showed illustrations by Eric Stanton. The Ultra cover announces "Wrestling Gals . . . Bizarre Fads . . . Exotic Fashions."

With its many pages of prose, Ultra may have been a bit more literary than Mr. Burtman's book. Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's nineteenth century novel, Venus in Furs, gave the world the word masochism. Fiction by him in this volume fills 16 pages.

If you think you have seen every Gene Bilbrew illustration he ever made, think again. The main charm of this volume is Mr. Bilbrew's superb ink work: five pages of the comic serial "Mat Girls," the cover, and two other pages.

Signing his pictures "Savage", Mr. Stanton contributed the centerfold cyclist and back cover sparring ladies. Many photos of fighting women and women fighting.
