A 60-page magazine, High Heels, 11/8, provides prime ebook content with three of its five pictorials. The three sets seem to have been shot expressly for this issue, while the other two appear to be of a mid-1970s vintage.

A serious blond with an excellent figure, Vicki shows off her thigh-high boots, then, knee-high boots with six-inch heels, and finally, stockings, garter belt and patent pumps with five-inch heels. An expert poser who continuously looks at the camera, she wears long leather gloves throughout.

In a loose-fitting leather bustier, garter belt, stockings and two-tone pumps with ultra-high heels, Greta awaits the attentions of her boyfriend Paco. Showing off her legs and insteps, Paco kisses her statuesque body as she directs.

Cover beauty Gloria displays those lithe legs in stockings, garter belt and sexy two-tone pumps on the sofa and standing. Three color pictures in this set give viewers lots to think about.

Wielding a cat o’ nine tails, Terri’s pictorial shows her in two-tone, lace-up, knee-high boots, stockings and an ornate leather corset. Then she wears thigh-high boots with shorter heels and a briefer corset.

First on the sidewalk and then on the sofa, “Latin Lash” Maria appears in long gloves, stockings, studded sandals and a black patent busier with many buckles.

Illustrations by Mr. Ward introduce two short stories. An assortment of photographs illuminate an article about heel worship.

One ebook version is a close digital replica of the original. Most pages of the magazine have wide margins at page edges. The empty space does not appear in the ebook, but the content is enlarged to fill the large, proportioned ebook pages. The original page sequence was retained. Specks and spots from negative dust and debris have been re-touched and tonality adjusted. The replica provides a viewing experience superior to that of the original.

The optimized ebook de-constructs the magazine's layouts, positioning 90+ pictures on separate ebook pages. The pictures of each set were ordered to show a natural progression of poses and costumes.

The wide format of the optimized ebook is intended to reduce the need for zooming and scrolling. Especially appealing fetish features are repeated, enlarged, beside the complete photograph or on the following page. Some of the smaller photographs have soft focus or graininess.

Unlike many High Heels magazines of the 1960s, this 1980s iteration shows models in footwear with five- and six-inch heels. Photography, modeling and costumes are competent. And there’s obvious evidence here of the benefits of California nutrition. The two digital presentations provide the best mechanism for enjoying the good fetish content.
