When a garter or garter strap wakes up in the morning, he knows where he's headed: Thighsville. That's where the work is done, holding stockings in place on creamy thighs and shapely legs.

In the Surprise Edition of Black Garter, most models wear hosiery (seamless, seamed, full-fashioned, and fishnet). Garters and garter belts grip them on soft thighs. Leggy ladies include stripper Irma the Body, Rita DeCastro, Wanda Ellis, Helen Kendall, Linda Grey, Gina Bell, Cherry Knight, and Alice Denham. Many wear long gloves.

The pages reflect an interest in modern graphics of the 1960s, with a lack of symmetry, superfluous lines, borders and bars, and many regions of black. Text adjacent to photographs provides models' measurements, and information about lighting, photography and camera brands.

The ebook pages are nearly identical in size to the originals. While some page borders have been reduced, the magazine's ambitious graphics stylize ebooks pages.

Some pages in the original require the reader to rotate the magazine. Those pages have been rotated 90° on ebook pages.
