Nurse in Rubber, C-22
Selbee Associates, 1963
A Connoisseur Publication
Any volume of Mr. Burtman’s precious Connoisseur Series had the construction of Exotique magazine. Usually, a glossy, full-color cover introduced 64 pages of content. The pages may have carried photographs, text, a mix of both or comics. If published in the 1950s, these booklets might have had the Exotique brand in forward tilting, streamlined script on the bottom. Due to some legal issues, the Exotique logo was discontinued after 1959.
Connoisseur Series booklets usually showed care and focus in their preparation. Typical themes were cross-dressing, fetish apparel, female domination, and rubber.
One anonymous story fills most of the pages of Nurse in Rubber, C-22, but the text is likely to provide a generous serving of delicious detail for the rubber fetishist who reads it. Conveniently, nurse Lois is required by hospital regulations to wear rubber when assisting with surgery. The writer describes all of the many layers of rubber garments Lois dons, from her molded rubber boots to her rubber beret.
Lois’ pal Lee is a model and fashion designer who is enchanted by the nurse’s wardrobe when she visits on a rainy night. Lois also shares rubber clothing with two men, Cronin and Taylor, who are fascinated by the tight, clinging sensation when enclosed in it.
Completely outside the narrative, the writer confesses that she (or he) is wearing rubber from head to toe while writing. He describes the exotic fragrance, texture, luster, rustling whispers and elasticity of the material. We are told about rubber capes, gloves, caps, panties, bikini, bra, aprons, hose, girdle, hood-mask, latex panty-supporter and more. In the final scene, the foursome play “The Rubber Game” while drinking methinis.
For those with a deep interest in things of rubber (including furniture), this descriptive prose provides a delightful treat. In addition to the excellent color cover, one additional picture by Mr. Stanton illustrates the text. The ebook presentation makes the most of this art.
The story is followed by eight pages of Brandee Kayse displaying her own sultry charms in her rubber wardrobe. Pages carry as many as four photographs, but the pictures are presented one to a page in the ebook.
