GAZE, August 1959
Humorama,.Inc.
New York City
Humorama published a dozen different titles on pulp paper throughout the 1950s and into the 1960s. Most of them digest-sized, they had names like Snappy, Joker, Comedy and Breezy. The focus was gags.
Gaze humor included double entendre silliness about seats, figures, rackets, and sugar. Jokes were printed as paragraphs, poems, quips attributed to models and many full page cartoons. About half the pages are cartoons, most with pinup elements.
The photography consists of full-page pictures of models, some with a burlesque pedigree, showing off their legs, cleavage, smiles and other pinup assets. Models include Sherry Britton, Virginia de Lees, Marle Sanderson, Joanne Jordan, Mona Miller and Laura Vickers.
The original magazine is more than 90 pages.
