In the 1950s, Elmer Batters presented his photographs in magazines he published, such as Black Silk Stockings and Leg-O-Rama. Possibly due to tax issues, those publications were discontinued, and he began working with American Art Agency on a number of magazines that focused on legs and stockings.

Among the best know of his 1960s venues was Tip Top, “From the Tip of the Toes to the Top of the Hose.” The August 1964 issue lists Elmer A. Batters as Advisory Editor, and its content certainly reflects Mr. Batters' views, with letters to Elmer Batters and his replies, a pictorial of a model in sneakers and other pictorials. True to its title and slogan, just about every picture shows shapely gams in stockings.

The pictorials of cheerful young models certainly reflect his aesthetic preferences. They all wear sheer stockings, either FF or RHT, and most have garter belts, panties and shoes with three-inch heels. As was typical of the magazines of this publisher, the photos show some air-brush work, on the stockings and on other curved volumes of the models' bodies.

Other magazine features include a Notes on the Leg Line column and articles about stockings, sneakers and leg watching. Including covers, the magazine is 80 pages. Some of the pictures span two pages and those pages are spliced together and shown on a single ebook page. Every page of the original is shown in the ebook, including the ads.
